In September Equihounds did a seminar for the Southern Italian Spinone Society. It was a full day for demonstrations and fun. We all had a great time looking at the Spinone's conformation and analysed their gaits to see if they had any problems. A great day was had for all and my thanks goes to Lynn Luff for Organising it all.
In Feburay 2007 Equihounds did a presentation and workshop of the
Southern Newfoundland Group. The dog in the picture is Barney. He was my very willing voluntary demonstration dog. The time went so quickly and everybody was really interested in massage therapy and the benifits it has for their dogs. As you can imagine these dogs work really hard with all the water resuce they do.
There were so many questions at lunch time on each owners individual problems that I didn't have time to eat my lunch!
It was a brilliant day and my thanks goes to Brenda King for organising it all.
Equihounds were out and about today at the launch of the Forestry Commision's new codes of conduct for using the New Forest. We made a very brief appearance on national television. If you blinked you would have missed us.
Local press were also there and took a keen interest in my work.
It was a good turn out by the public, all keen to show their support for the New Forest and learn more about how we can protect it and keep it looking stunning for many years to come. Here are a few photos of the day. Kato was his usual self (a complete star) and the pony Flame was kindly donated for a massage by Patrick, Suzanne and Andrew Kemp.
Massaging in the New Forest is not the easiest place to perform this type of therapy but the animals all behaved themselves and we made it through the day.
I went back up to the Institute of Complementary Animal Therapy's at the end of 2005 and assisted Julie Boxal with the teaching of the Canine Massage Thearpy course. It was great to be able to go back and help others learn about this fantastic therapy. The new students looked very worried about how they were going to manage the course and it was nice for them to see the evidence of somebody who has made thier way through the course and is now enjoying helping all kinds of animals. All the new students will do well and they were a very nice group of people.
Here Jo is trying out for the first time the new techniques she has learnt, this is the puppy's first massage too.
In this photo we were trying to decide the best way to to conformation analysis with lots of different dogs. We managed it in the end.
Here we are trying to be clever and getting the dogs to sit stay and have a great photo taken. As you can see they did quiet well.
